Grandparentage DNA Test

A grandparent test, carried out in the absence of the alleged father, determines the relationship between a child and the parents of the alleged father

A Grandparent DNA Test determines whether a couple could be the biological grandparents of a child. This is an indirect way of determining family relationships when the alleged father is not available for the paternity test. The results of the grandparent test can be used as evidence in claims for Social Security benefits and other inheritance claims as well as in some immigration cases.

In the test, the child’s DNA profile is compared with the DNA profiles of the biological parents of the alleged father. Since a child inherits half of her DNA from the mother (maternal side), the paternal half should match the DNA passed on by the presumed grandparents. For a more agile analysis, the mother’s participation is recommended; Absent grandmother tests take much longer to complete due to the extensive testing that is required.

Technology:

The paternity test or DNA test is performed through the analysis of genetic markers known as short tandem repeats (STR) that are highly variable between individuals.

DNA analysis for paternity and kinship tests are performed from saliva samples by means of a scraping of the buccal mucosa, so the sample collection is NOT INVASIVE OR PAINFUL.

The paternity or relationship test can be carried out from any biological sample since all cells of a person have exactly the same DNA,

so the accuracy and reliability of the results is the same, regardless of the biological material used.

For sampling, we routinely use oral exudate (inner part of the cheek). You can also use other types of samples: List of unusual samples.

All samples of our own knowledge (NOT LEGAL) we can offer you complete confidentiality and privacy throughout the process.

If you like, you can do it anonymously. You can also order a sampling kit from a courier address as “happens”.
